Public Information Centre #2 held on June 8
A second Public Information Centre was held on June 8, 2026, to allow the public to view plans and discuss the project with Oxford County Engineering staff and the consultant design team.
The presentation by the project team shared updates to the design; reviewed key points and feedback received to date; and provided an overview of the proposed construction timing, staging and anticipated impacts.

About the project
Oxford County is making improvements to the Thamesford downtown corridor (Oxford Road 2/ Dundas Street) in Zorra Township to respond to increased traffic volumes from ongoing and future development in the area.
These improvements are based on recommendations from a comprehensive corridor study. Proposed changes include the following.
Traffic operations
- Installation of a two-way left-turn lane along Dundas Street
- Removal of on-street parking
- Safety improvements for all road users
- Raised medians at select locations where they help organize traffic movements
- Entrance modifications at select businesses where multiple entrances are located in close proximity to intersections.
Intersection and crossing improvements
• Installation of new traffic signals at George Street
• Relocation of George Street pedestrian crossover to Stanley Street
Pedestrian and safety improvements
• Pedestrian and accessibility upgrades at key locations
• Streetlighting improvements
